Heir of Fire – Sarah J. Maas
I have been reading heir of Fire for the past two weeks or so and it has been A M A Z I N G. The new and entertaining characters, came at me out of nowhere, as in the previous two books I felt the characters a bit flat (especially Dorian) and on it’s own the story just didn’t seem appealing. BUT I’m so happy I picked this one up anyways (I had real doubt, believe me!), because what I have been reading is exactly what im used to seeing from S.J.Maas, lifelike descriptions and griping plot twists – Ah! I love it, seriously.
*spoler*
Since I have been around the book community I have been spoled to some extent as far as Rowan and Celaena ‘s relationship goes, and to be honest that was one of the major factors that made me read this book, and all troughout the beginning while they were still at each other’s throats I kept on thinking how at one point they will be all lovey-dovey *hearteyes*. And then were training and getting close to one another, starting to open up. ;( In those first moments when Celaena was so vulnerable and Rowan still had his walls up I wanted to cry, it was so sad to watch her be pushed away like that. But then I also understood where Rowan was coming from.
I’m still at the point where they are only friends but obviously they have a special connection. Like did anyone else notice how they are LITTERALLY talking telepathically, and Sarah kept on calling it “silent conversations” and I’m like They are Mates! It’s the BOND! But jokes aside, I love how their relationship is moving and I respect how Sarah chose the details of Rowan’s backstory to be something a bit unusual. When we learn that he lost his mate and child in such a tragic way, we can fully relate to why he had all of his guards up till the last moment. I love Rowan. I love most of Sarah’s characters anyway. XD
OMG! Manon and Abraxos are the coolest pair E V E R! Is it only me, or did that scene when they were going to fly and actually most of their scenes seem extremely intimate, as if they have a different connection to any other. And Manon seems to really respect him for all he’s been trough but also she doesn’t pity him, but rather pushes him to be even greater – exactly because she knows his capabilities.
They are like a family in my eyes. Just the two of them, and they seem to be enough for one another as well. I think Manon is super cool.
And I think this is what I had to share for now, I’ve got only like 100 pages left of the book anyway sooo, maybe I’ll finish it tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have more to share. 🙂
